Brian M. Rosenthal is an investigative reporter working at the New York Times and the winner of the 2020 Pulitzer Price in Investigative Reporting. In a series of articles, Rosenthal “showed how lenders profited from predatory loans that shattered lives of vulnerable taxi drivers in New York City, reporting that ultimately led to state and federal investigations and sweeping reforms.” Investigative reporting requires in-depth research and collecting of facts and information. Using logical thinking and information analysis, which uses the rhetorical strategy logos, it took Rosenthal 18 months to uncover what was going on in the New York City taxi industry. His prize-winning work is giving hope to thousands of taxi drivers in the City.
