The way news is organized on your timeline varies depending on the site you’re using at the moment. For instance, facebook will show you news updates based on what is most relevant to you, as well as who is most influential to you. They choose to filter their news and first show you posts from people you interact with more. Also, “the new Facebook algorithm works by ranking all available posts that can display on a user’s news feed based on how likely that user will have a positive reaction.” Much like instagram, facebook utilizes algorithms to show you what you might like rather having everything shown in a chronological order. This might not be accepted by all, but there's no way around it.
