At the Facebook headquarters, creator of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg has decided to tackle combating fake news on his social media platform. Facebook plans on having community reviewer’s fact check content uploaded to the Facebook platform and Zuckerberg stated that “these community reviewers will work as researchers to find information to contradict online hoaxes or corroborate claims”. The interesting aspect of this article is that Facebook plans on adding a Machine learning model which could find misinformation based on comments on a post and if the post is being shared by pages that have had a past of spreading misinformation. Hopefully these strategies will allow Facebook to effectively combat Fake News articles on their platform.
