CNN has had a lot of issues in the past with being credible to not only conservatives but also many liberals as well. The news source focuses the majority of their efforts on making flashy headlines that attract their audience by using pathos to spark emotions. This causes people to lose credibility in the media group as the majority of people do not like being lied to by headlines. In an article by CNN journalist Daniel Dale, the writer uses a catchphrase "Fact Check" to try to convey a sense of truth to his article. This sense of truth is then all but lost as the writer uses opinionated "facts" to bash his target (which is usually Trump). In one such article, the writer titles his article, "Fact check: Trump lies that he was being 'sarcastic' when he talked about injecting disinfectant." At the beginning of this article, the writer used his power as a journalist to belittle and bash the president for his mistake until finally within the second section of the article did he finally bring in evidence and describe what happened. This to me is poor journalism and is a great example of the majority of CNN's writers and explains why people distrust them.
