The first time I heard this term was when our 45th president of the united states called CNN fake news during his administration. President Trump used this term to label any bad or negative publicity he received from the mainstream media companies. He even declined answering a CNN reporter at a white house press conference saying “I don’t talk to fake news.” No wonder the media has demonized him, I can’t remember the last time a sitting president criticized the media. I don’t blame him because they have constantly criticized and made him out to be the cause of all our problems.for example, Fake news to me is reporting news with extreme bias.
