The coronavirus virus continues to spread around the world like wildfire. However, the more this pandemic spreads, the more fake news is being published. According to the UN News, “fake news is putting lives at risk.” There are many malicious people who fee
d on those that are scared or ignorant with misinformation such as claiming that if you drink water every 15 minutes, coronavirus will travel from your “throat and into the stomach. Once there, your stomach acid will kill all the virus.” However, according to Alex Kasprak, that claim is false. This theory has been debunked by many disease experts such as Dr. Susan Wootton, who says “no data exist to support the claim that sipping water will
prevent infection by transporting it to the stomach.”
