Falling for Fake News

nnguyen130

For us, fake news is nothing new. And though it's been spreading around for a while now, it seems like it's going to stop and never will. There are a number of explanations, of course. There is one primary explanation, however, that prevents us from verifying what they approach daily. The growth of false news is focused on what we have today, which is “a surplus of information,” according to Christopher Dwyer's research on psychologytoday.com. Thus, it is difficult for us to determine whether to read or believe anything on the Internet or not. Because of that, "We're not reading everything on our social media newsfeed.” Instead, we read something that catches our attention, like fascinating headlines or keywords. Sensationalist terminology is what most individuals use to fall for fake news as tricks.
