False Positive

Writer's picture: Josh BittlestoneJosh Bittlestone

With the end of the covid health crisis in sight, the false information that spread around the beginning of the pandemic and even now has come forward into the limelight. Most notably, many skeptics of mask-wearing have come up with solutions by using misinformation. Among these are fake face mask exemption slips and forms. These forms "claim that the person carrying them has a physical or mental condition covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) that makes them unable to wear a face mask or covering." (Johns-Hopkins). This is just one example that Johns-Hopkins cites. On top of this, there have been claims of a new Coronavirus made in the US and falsified mask statistics.
