During this pandemic, people are looking for almost anything that isn't bad news about disease, so they turned attention to the animals that are running rampant through the streets of cities and are living in the empty areas. None of those animals are really doing that. Rumors of animals doing some literally wild things are not actually true, but fake news that are going viral on social media. One might think that since this is a positive story about nature improving and growing, it isn't a bad thing to share this fake news, but there is a big catch to this. As National Geographic put it, "These fake feel-good stories...can make people even more distrustful at a time when everyone already feels vulnerable. Finding out good news isn’t real can be even more demoralizing than not hearing it at all." While it may not always seem that fake news is *always* bad, there could be underlying problems that fake news can cause.
