Since the end of the 2016 election large companies with the likes of Google and Facebook have been cracking down on the spread of fake news. Facebook even went as far as starting the "News Integrity Initiative" to help determine the credible news from the false news. Since the increase in fake news on the cite Facebook has redone their fake news protocols (https://www.facebook.com/facebookmedia/blog/working-to-stop-misinformation-and-false-news). Google is taking similar steps by implementing an automated system to detect publishers of false news. Both companies efforts have cut a large chunk of fake news out of the public domain.
