Front page: Catching the Eye

Cade Novicke

Over the past couple of days I have looked at the front pages and covers of newspapers. I have found that each company uses a similar tactic when it comes to a visual rhetoric for news.

Each paper has the company name at the very top with large bolded letters. Right below is what the page is going to talk about. It isn't really a clever title, just a summary of what the article is talking about. In the smallest letters are the more detailed information over the story. You can also find little side stories, information, or ads on the side of the "main" news. Finally, splattered across the paper is colored or black and white pictures that relates to the news.
