The evolution of technology, the Internet, and social media has played a significant part in finding quality journalists today. Thanks to technology consistently evolving, information is now at our fingertips. Social media has empowered everyone to feel like they are a journalist. However, this can lead to people sharing inaccurate information. Thankfully, there are still some real journalists in the world pushing the envelope to ensure people receive accurate information. In NeimanLab's Predictions for Journalism 2021, journalist Zizi Papacharissi talks about rebuilding the infrastructure of truth through journalism. "The next few years will undoubtedly be met with massive efforts to rebuild the infrastructure of truth in the U.S. This will happen; it is a natural and inevitable reaction. Fake news will not dominate our infoscapes forever." I cannot agree more with Zizi. There have been many fake news reports shared by our government, news sites, and social media these last few years. It will take a lot of work from our real journalist to clarify what information was correct or incorrect. I am pleased to know that we still have dedicated journalists like Zizi to ensure the Americans receive accurate information. As well as reveal our country in a more positive light. I look forward to seeing what the future hold for our journalist!
