Futuristic Journalism

Brian Castro

Many social media today take away the purpose of the career journalists work their life for. Social media is everywhere and deliver news much quicker than newspapers, magazines, etc. They also grasp more people’s attention than most journalists, because they are more aware of what is appealing to the readers. Professor, Laura Davis, teaches her students the requirements of adapting to this new word of journalism and how to do so. She guides them, However, as a professor, I work with the journalists of the future, so I want to find a kernel of hope — for them and for our democracy.” She continues to explain that journalists nowadays and soon in the future role will be to annotate the news being delivered rather than to blankly deliver.
