Futuristic Possibilities

nterry4

What does the future of journalism look like? If you were to ask the head of digital editorial development of the Financial Times, Renée Kaplan, she would tell you that journalism needs to predict it's readers and anticipate their needs. She states "If growing content personalization and the rise of AI were journalism predictions of past years, the prediction for next year goes further — combining both, accelerating personalization to become more comprehensive and integrated." In her article https://www.niemanlab.org/2020/12/falling-in-love-with-your-subscription/ she references the movie Her, which I am now compelled to watch, and describes how AI is essentially the future. "The experience elicits the kind of loyalty and commitment that every news media aims for." Could this actually be the future for journalists? Writing articles aimed for a specific genre of people versus reporting just facts? I guess only time will tell. [1 image, 1 link, 2 quotations, 142 words]
