In an article by Matthew Choi, he analyzes and talks about gen z and the effects of misinformation on social media espceiclaly during critical times such as the election. When a video of a girl went viral declaring her request for a mail-in ballot was received wrapped in pages supporting the re-election of Donald Trump. "This looks like an Ad for Donald Trump. This does not look like an absentee ballot request form" The video was quickly spread around numerous social media platforms gaining hundreds of thousands of views. It was quickly discovered the ballot she received was not a government official form. The girl in the video, Kendall Matthews knew the form wasn't from an Offical government election official, but by the time she tried to stop the video, the comments and shares only grew. According to this article, a poll was taken regarding the level of confidence gen z and registered voters have when it comes to misinformation and interpreting "fake news".
