In her Nieman Lab Prediction For Journalism 2020, Alexandrea Borchardt talks about how journalist are forgetting to go out into the world and "engage with real people". She explains that in order to receive an audience, journalist need to talk to the locals, interact with the people who are going through the very thing they are talking about in the papers. Borchardt wants to remind journalist that they are working to "serve" the community and spread news and experiences with the world, whether it be in person or online. There are multiple ways to engage with their audiences such as, social media, podcasts, newspapers, or the radio.
