The debate over gun control in the US has been going on for as long as we can all remember. It feels like almost everyday there is a tragedy involving guns, which makes it so mind blowing that nothing has been done to enforce stricter laws regarding the obtainment of firearms. One of the main reasons for no change being made is a strict following in the 2nd amendment, which is "The right to bear arms". Many people believe it is an American right to be able to carry around a firearm everywhere for protection, but how do we know that everyone has this goal in mind? There are many people who obtain guns with the main focus of violence and revenge, and this must be stopped. How many more deaths is it going to take to realize that this is a problem greater than our American rights. There are Americans dying left and right, over a right that was created with no intent other than protection. This must be changed. (https://www.cfr.org/backgrounder/us-gun-policy-global-comparisons)
