With a mass influx of mass shootings and gun violence, the country is more divided than ever on the state of gun control and regulation. However, with an estimated 121 guns per 100 people in the U.S, gun control issue becomes more than just banning all guns. Some believe that guns are necessary for their self defense and protection, others believe guns are killing machines that should only be allowed in the hands of soldiers, and some believe that nobody should ever touch a gun in their life. The argument of banning guns usually branches into politics, specifically on the subject of gun control/regulation of U.S firearms. Despite how affluent the argument is inserted into politics, little is known or planned about the regulation of firearms, and the Washington Post states "Research on gun violence is notoriously underfunded".
