How different platforms use rhetoric to persuade

wrowe2

As with many young people today including myself, we look at social media as one of the ways to get news. I want to look at 2 different platforms that I have experience with and compare how they do or do not use rhetoric to convince their users. Instagram says, "Instagram is expanding its limited fact-checking test in the U.S. from May and will now work with 45 third-party organizations to assess the truthfulness of photo and video content on its app." On the other hand, there is a very different app that has been in the news lately for its lack of involvement and censorship of people's posts, Parler. These are 2 very different platforms because one censors and "fact checks" images and videos that users post, and the other has no rules and is a free for all.

This begs the question which one is better? Is one too dangerous, or are people smart enough to filter through the information?
