How might fake news damage the internet?

What is fake news and how does it involve me? Fake news is everywhere. It exist throughout the internet and even news stations. We currently live in an age where even the slightest slander may affect a whole group of people and even you.

During the pandemic times, people are more gullible to lies that affect the whole Chinese community. Take in for example, Coronavirus Bioweapon. In the post, the author talks about China weaponizing the Coronavirus. To us, it may sound crazy. There will be thousands of people that believe in the article, because they of the time we are currently in.

The author uses sources they may sound believable, such as the popular online new station, Buzzfeed. The author also uses pictures in order to make the reader feel more scared. The general reader may not understand what some of the photos show, so the author could twist their understanding of the photo.

"This Coronavirus sample was acquired by Scientific Director Dr. Frank Plummer (key to Coronavirus investigation Frank Plummer was recently assassinated in Africa) of Canada’s National Microbiology Laboratory(NML) in Winnipeg directly from Fouchier, who received it from Zaki. This virus was reportedly stolen from the Canadian lab by Chinese agents."

Despite there being a description of the photo, the author tries to deceive the reader and install fear into them.
