C.W. Anderson, a professor of media and communication at the University of Leeds, talks about the change of journalism between Trump and Biden these days. Before (or even after) the election of Trump, many presses noticeably oppose the Trump administration. Anderson found the reason for this situation, pointing out political journalism in the United States is consists of elites and consumed by elites either. Since Trump leads the populism among his electorate before and after his election, the press with elites shows huge opposition toward them. He cited the headline of the New York Times, “How the State Dept.’s Dissenters Incited a Revolt, Them a Rallying Cry” written the issue of the impeachment of President Donald Trump to show how the press view the events with Trump. Anderson points out that "this story, like many other news reports written during the first term of the Trump presidency, reflects a circumstance that I call the crackup of the elites."
