Fake news is generated everywhere, But how exactly does it become so popular sometimes? The reason is because people make it popular by circulating false news articles because they didn’t know it was fake.“Another contributing factor, according to Pew Research is confirmation bias. People are more likely to accept information that confirms their beliefs and dismiss information that does not.” This tells us that if people see something that they think is right, they are going to have a hard time changing their mind and believing it's fake because they’re biased. There are many ways we can combat fake news, and some of them include checking the sources and credibility, checking the credibility of the author, as well as just using our basic critical thinking skills.
