Fake news is something that is not new to our society-- it now just has better means to spread. BBC created an article called "Solutions that can stop fake news spreading" it then goes into how humans are curious and will stop to check the most suspicious stories. It then goes into the combative portion on how to fight back, which is human intervention by flagging the false articles, and by using algorithms to fight algorithms. When discussing how to use the combative algorithm, the author states that "Algorithms are part of what spreads fake news - because juicy yet false stories which become popular can be pushed out to new eyeballs by the software that runs social networks. But some programmers think computer code could also be part of the solution." The fight is just getting started, and it is up to the brains behind technology to help stop fake news.
