Like many social media apps, Twitter also
acts as a news source for many of their users.
According to the American Press Institute, "77 percent all social media users keep up with the news." Not only that, but "Nearly 9 in 10 Twitter users in the study (86%) say they use Twitter for news, and the vast majority of those (74%) do so daily." Twitter uses digital rhetoric as a way to inform and update their audiences. Also, tabs such as "Trending" and "News" are not only used to offer real-time news, but also to help keep their audiences stay in touch.
