Hu Shuli, a Chinese journalist and founder of Caixin Media, a news outlet providing fresh and pertinent stories concerning China's economy and government everyday of the week, is greatly acclaimed for her comprehensive reportings in a country so circumspect in regards to the media world. In her news articles, Shuli resolutely investigates the undertones of corruption and fraud within China’s government and conglomerates, unafraid to give prominence to rising issues within these disquieting spheres. In an article from 2015, Shuli argues that “some [Chinese] officials [are] mak[ing] only token efforts to perform their duties,... because they fear being caught up in the anti-corruption drive.” In this case, Shuli strives to alert her readers of faulty leaders that risk hindering China's anti-corruption campaign through her informative and exhortative prose, an undertaking only few are willing and capable of carrying out.
