Huge Media Platform Bans News in Australia

Due to a law created in Australia, a huge social medial platform, known as Facebook, banned everyone in the country from being able to view any news stories or sources. Facebook's decision came from the result of Australia's "proposed legislation that would force social media platforms to pay Australian news organizations for links shared on its sites," according to reporter, Bobby Allyn, of npr.org. The best rhetorical strategy used in this story is the use of showing screenshots of the problems affecting Australian Facebook users with captions reading: "No Posts Yet" on several news accounts. This rhetorical use is heavily adding to Allyn's argument over how Facebook is exerting their power to disregard an unwanted policy conflict with Australian law by resolving the solution through blocking users completely.
