Investigating the Power Crisis

dsummers98

As we all know last week was a very interesting week to say the least. Im sure most people were very excited to see snow but like me that excitement faded after about 3 days when my power went out. The interesting thing is that only certain peoples power went out and not everyone and many people did not have power for days on end. Ercot says "40% of the state's generators - four out of every 10 - were knocked offline. Those generators account for 46,000 megawatts of power, enough electricity to power roughly 9.2 million homes" (Friedman 1). This would understandably cause trouble but why wouldnt everyone lose power? This question sadly cannot be answered today and hopefully people will find the answer soon and prevent this from happening again.
