Steve Henn, a content strategy lead for audio news at Google, noted in NiemanLab's Predictions for Journalism 2020 that he believes audio news will become the next big thing. He emphasizes that "at Google, [the team is] at the beginning of an effort to make the audio web as relevant and useful as the text web has become" (par. 4). Google plans on making audio content interactive with users. It will do this by compiling short audio stories that cover any topic from major news, sports teams, and other stories and also allowing users to choose what they listen to as well. This could greatly impact the way the world works for "education, or professional training, or even storytime for children" (par. 8).
