Fake news is everywhere we look social media wise in our current day, its something we just can't seem to escape. Why is it that we believe everything we read? With the current pandemic we are facing, a lot of false news has circulated and I have come to the conclusion that as long as someone on a news site claims it, people think it must be true. For instance, in California "FBI agents from San Diego and Los Angeles arrested a Southern California man who claimed he had created a “patent-pending cure” for COVID-19", while there is no cure for a virus. The main thing we have to watch out for as we are consumers to any information shared, is proper sourcing and also multiple sources claiming and sharing similar stories. Although, we can't forget that it is 2020, and spreading fake news is something to gain attention as well.
