For the past few years, journalists have been losing their jobs, loosing benefits, and some are even being forced to change work field. Rachel Glickhouse, a journalist at ProPublica, stated, "Journalists will continue to lose their jobs and have to make important decisions about their livelihoods." After doing some more research, I have concluded that the industry is on the decline.
In a day and age where there are endless ways to stay entertained and plenty of sources of daily drama, people do not feel the need to keep up with the news as much anymore. There are plenty of other things to keep up with now that did not exist a few decades ago. While the journalism industry has been on the decline, I believe that it will always be present as people will always need to know what is going on in the world.
