One of the major events of many high schoolers careers is prom, and it is something many look forward to. Recently with covid restrictions many school districts have had to make tough decisions about prom, with many cancelling it or limiting it to outdoor areas. Lovejoy ,for example, cancelled prom but allowed students and parents to set up their own prom which I think is a good idea, however many parents could potentially set up more dangerous proms. I asked a friend from school who said "He was looking forward to prom but [he's] heard about a cool one that a parent is setting up and is excited for that." With covid slowing down many people feel the dangers are overexaggerated however in michigan "150 covid cases were linked to one party"(Mullen 1).
