Issues Facing Journalism

One of the primary issues facing journalism today, is personal, political affiliation influencing their public message. It has become increasingly difficult to find unbiased new sources, which also contributes to what journalists are allowed to cover because their employer or news outlet will limit the publishing of certain ideals. A majority of people’s political information is found online and Laura E. Davis makes an important argument by saying “Media coverage contributes to an ecosystem that harms people and democracies, and we can’t ignore that context any longer.”Predictions for Journalism 2020 » Collections » Nieman Journalism Lab » Pushing to the Future of Journalism Fake news and partial context sway the public and limit an actual fair democracy not only harming our governmental system, but also harming journalists that genuinely want to inform the public.
