Journalism has changed dramatically since the eighteenth century and has become more advanced than ever. With these new advances critics have claimed that journalism has lost its moral touch. They argue that news outlets report on social issues, politics, and economics rather than more important things such as "high investment returns". With this being said technology has played a major role in this, the majority wants to hear what social issues are being discussed and argued about. With the technology that is available to us it is easy to misinterpret a message or hear multiple sides of a story knowing that only one of them is true. "By looking not only at what journalism has been in the past, but also what it is becoming in the digital age, major issues related to reportage, warfare, celebrity culture, privacy, and technology worldwide are closely examined."
