Covid no doubt has changed a lot of aspects of daily life, including journalism. With the unverified nature and everchanging information it is hard to provide the most accurate information during these times. “This has become even more acute today when the information we get from, for example, the White House, is confusing at best,” said Swartzberg. “Society is torn with information from the government that cannot be consistently trusted. So, journalists become even more critical in their role.” As the information becomes more challenging so does the career. Newsrooms are hammered by layoffs and lack the right personnel to specialize in the right information.
