With the elitist political climate in 2020 stemming from Trump’s presidency, it is becoming increasingly difficult for journalists to represent both sides when one is so determined to discredit the other. Pinning the left and right against each other takes the focus away from real systemic issues that cannot be solved without considering both sides. Having the elite feed journalists information to create content surrounding minimizes the scope of topics they can cover. Only 1st hand sources are deemed as important, but those only cover one view. Now that Biden is in office, journalism in 2021 will either highlight that it has a liberal belief system, or that it needs more progress in order to eliminate the elitist tendencies of the media.
