Independent Journalist, Kalen D’Almeida, was attacked and beaten within Seattle's autonomous zone.
Journalists today face many hardships when they're on the ground covering news. Whether it's a CNN crew being arrested during a protest, a FOX reporter chased by protesters in D.C, or the brave journalists that risk their lives going inside CHAZ/CHOP. Usually, protesters want their message and voices to be heard however, that seems to not be the case in Seattle, Washington.
“You need to show me your phone, or I’m going to knock you the f*ck out” (Kalen D’Almeida).
Kalen was documenting the warlord of CHAZ when one of the goons asked for his phone. Kalen ignored the individual and was soon punched on the side of the head. A crowd formed and Kalen was able to escape the autonomous zone by avoiding interrogation.
