Journalists will be unemployed soon

Arthur Jones

The future of journalism seems to be headed to a dead end, as we see many journalists losing their jobs every year. In 2019 nearly 8,000 journalists lost their job, and that trend is expected to continue in the future. This is due to the fact that many journalists don’t make enough money, and some cant find jobs at all. “There aren’t many structures in place to support journalists struggling with job insecurity or job loss” (Glickhouse). Many companies are struggling to stay alive resulting in journalists turning away from the media because there is no stability or guarantee that they will keep the job for long. As a result, we will see countless journalist lose their jobs in the future.
