With millions of Americans now working from home, the challenge of internet speed comes into play. Internet usage at home is now being shared throughout the whole household. Many are working from home with their spouses while their children are working on school assignments at home via internet use. They are also playing using Wifi for their phones, video games, and streaming popular applications such as Netflix and Hulu. This is really causing a lag on household internet speeds. Household internet speeds simply do not compare to those of large companies who plan on supporting dozens to hundreds of employees. "In broad terms, many offices and schools essentially have the equivalent of a big pipe to carry internet traffic, compared with a garden hose for most homes." We should expect internet providers to strengthen their bandwidth for those working from home during these times.
