I downloaded the CBC news without it asking for a filter while, the BBC asked for a local news and interest topics (Health, Politics, World and Technology) filters.
BBC ads were in it's top stories page and CBC in the reads. BBC News are grouped according to which continent the news is occurring, has a lot of US & Canada news and interest topics at the bottom page with videos in a different section.
CBC news had a lot of World, technology and political news with Trump showing in almost every picture of the political news. They also tend to put news with the same topic together( I saw about five reads that talked about Trump and Trudeau). This brings me to filter bubbles.
This phenomena "describe a situation where news that we dislike or disagree with is automatically filtered out and this might have the effect If narrowing what we know"(Fletcher).
This also means that on this apps we often get news that are linked to what we believe in and our searches.
