When it comes to fake, misleading news, it can come from many sources, including major, well known news sources. Say for example, back in April 25, 2020, TMZ reported that Kim Jong Un had passed away unexpectedly. This news spread like wild fire despite the fact that there was barely any evidence to begin with. What is the purpose for doing such a thing? And why is the article still up there even if it actually didn't happen?
People like to use misleading news in order to receive the attention that the writer desires. On an article about fake news from webwise.ie, the article states, "These are stories that are deliberately fabricated to gain more website visitors and increase advertising revenue for websites. Clickbait stories use sensationalist headlines to grab attention and drive click-throughs to the publisher website, normally at the expense of truth or accuracy." With clickbait being everywhere, it is unavoidable. We will always see fake news, but it is up to us if we want to believe it or not.
