I have read how news organizations today are trying to become neutral in their articles and be objective by not creating any bias in their papers. For example, the author of the article was prohibited to make reports on shootings of African Americans because people believed she would be biased since she is black. The article, The neutrality vs. objectivity game ends, explains how objectivity is not neutrality and how it is nearly impossible to remove the natural biases of a journalist. Being neutral creates false equivalency and creates "an ill-informed public that is distrustful of what we do". To prevent neutrality, the article suggests that we diversify news organizations more so that journalists can share and listen to different perspectives on a topic.
