Multiple Perspectives are Key Pt. 2

Chandler Mitchell

In the article Death to bothsidesism, the author explains how news companies are making an effort to committing themselves to "bothsideism". Bothsideism is defined as the tendency to present both sides of an argument as relevant. They explain how it is degrading journalism today because it informs the public of a false balance in problems. To be more specific, it is leading to a political breakdown as "it causes people to think there is nothing solid they can believe in". News sources portraying subjects as equals leads to people not being able to take a stand on who they support since both sides are viewed as equally appealing.
