In NeimanLab's Predictions for Journalism 2020 (https://www.niemanlab.org/2020/01/spotify-launches-a-news-channel/) Felix Salmon predicts that the popular music and podcast streaming service, Spotify, is going to launch a "simple news channel". This is especially great for journalists because this would be the first podcast strictly about the news. Giving the news in a podcast format would uniquely benefit the journalists, because they could put out podcasts at their leisure and listeners can listen to them whenever they want. Salmon also says that Spotify would create news playlists, which would again benefit journalists because of the exposure they would get. 2020 could be the year that we see a brand new way to get the news.
