There are a lot of people who want to have access to the news, whether that be through the TV, phone, or even a regular old newspaper. However, most people have started to watch and read the news on their phones. As more people read on their phones, more news publishers are wanting to have regular subscriptions. However, a lot of people are not wanting to pay a set price for what they are getting. Most people are more willing to give donations rather than pay a subscription. “What a relief it is to find that people are finally comfortable - even willing - to pay for relevant and high-quality journalism…” says Delia Cai in her article, “Subscriptions start working for the middle”. People are wanting to pay a donation to access more relevant news for themselves, rather than having to see a broad and mostly political news article.
