No more SAT and ACT testing requirements?

With the rapid progression of the global pandemic COVID-19, events everywhere are being shut down daily. Some of these events include school, college tours, and scheduled ACT and SAT testing. Over 1,000 colleges around the country are no longer making SAT and ACT test scores mandatory in the application process, due to the lack of time to prepare and take the test multiple times if needed. This decision has been very controversial among students, because many with an average GPA and class rank were relying heavily on high test scores to propel them forward. It is still optional to submit scores, which is the good news. Although many believe this is just a limited time ordeal, “some schools — including the University of Oregon and Oregon State University — have already committed to making their new test-optional policies permanent”
