No more spam emails

Arthur Jones

Journalists depend on reader revenue, therefore companies will do anything to get a reader to subscribe to their newsletter. Some companies spam their not paying audience with spam emails, but in the future companies will begin to implement new ways of incentivizing readers to pay for their services. Tactics like the one BoiseDev uses will soon be the norm, “Each week, non-paying members get the BoiseDev Download, it’s a quick check of some of the top headlines of the week. It starts, however, with a membership offer” (Day). In the future of journalism, we will see new methods that actually hook the reader instead of annoying them with junk mail.
