In 2020, there were a lot of changes in society which effected everyone in many ways. Journalists of color have always talked of illuminating "the systemic racism that our field has been content to keep hidden" and 2020 brought the action to this topic (Friedman-Rudovsky and Haynes 1). This gave journalists a new safe platform to speak their truths and actually take action on these injustices. In 2021, journalists hope to further the progression on acting upon whatever they are writing about. They want equality everywhere in the media, from news rooms to social media. Now is the opportunity for journalism to thrive in this new formed society.
