OSINT journalism is providing new opportunities to Journalists around the world! But What exactly is OSINT journalism? According to NeimanLab's Predictions for Journalism 2020, it is "a combination of creative and critical thinking to navigate digital sources on the web" (NeimanLab). OSINT, or Open Source Intelligence, was originally used for intelligence agencies to investigate and find the truth. Now, "Groups like Forensic Architecture and Bellingcat have pioneered creative new ways of getting to the truth through digital sources" (NeimanLab). As of right now, OSINT is only used by a few skilled enthusiasts, but is quickly becoming more popular because of big Journalism companies releasing guides on how to do OSINT. "As more and more journalists are introduced to techniques and tools, OSINT will proliferate from large newsrooms to smaller and even individual journalists" (NeimanLab).
