Pandemic in the news

Fake news continues to be an ongoing topic even amid a crisis.Fake news can mean variety of things to people. Some say fake news is just an author not revealing the whole truth. Either way,the worlds, our neighbors, our friends, and family's health are at risk and It is more important than ever to pay attention to news and make sure it’s credible. A popular topic on Facebook right now is “Coronavirus remedies and science.”


Many of these Facebook posts are by people claiming to have had symptoms, did some at home remedies, and felt fine after.However,this isn’t safe or reliable due to it being a stranger with possibly no medical experience.In an article written by Alice Hazleton she claims that if you “find a reference or link to the original research in the story you are reading then it’s probably a good sign.” This is a great way to ensure you’re getting accurate scientific research. Her article goes greater in detail on how to fact check an article you see.
