Where there are setbacks, there are improvements to made. The industry of journalism is no stranger to this concept. Through the years, people of color have faced backlash on whether or not they are able to cover a sensitive subject relating to their race. Their work is pushed aside because it is assumed that there is a chosen side in the writing. However, as Tonya Mosley states in "The neutrality vs. objectivity game ends," "Acknowledging the rights and humanity of people is not a "side."" In the end, only those with enough dedication and strength will break through and provide what has possible never done before or returning a lost quality. Opportunities in local news organizations are sprouting as large agencies are juggling survival tactics through the struggles of false information, corruption, and quality, all for the sake of attention. Though it will start out small and lonely, a journalist dedication to truth and quality will provide a sense of security for the community, perhaps taking customers from the large agencies. There is no harm in trying, only in not trying at all.
Notifications. They pop up on your phone and grab your attention for a second before you turn back to the task at hand. Whether or not the notification pulled your attention enough to act upon seeing the notification is important information to the company on how they alter and distribute their own. Notifications provide data to the company, whether you clicked the notification, whether clicked the links to other stories in that notification, giving insight to what draws people in and what pushes them away. With this information, they are able to alter what they already have to better fit customers and possibly receive more attention. Rather than just a notice, notifications for several different companies have potential to be more effective in their use.
